Evolving with the market
The agglomerate size of the operating units has more than tripled since SMI started trading as a multinational operator in 2001. The dynamic organic growth of our individual operating units was significantly enhanced by growth through acquisitions and geographic expansion and helped us to provide services in countries outside of the existing core geographies.
For example, our shareholder the Klueh Group, has grown organically within Germany, but has expanded significantly outside and is now the leading facility services provider in the Middle East, considered to be the largest soft service provider in Greece, is also a key force in Spain and now employs more than 6.000 people in China.
Our group of companies and SMI are constantly expanding into new geographies particularly in Asia Pacific, the former Eastern European bloc and the Americas.
Within only the last 12 months SMI has succeeded in expanding its presence to the United States and Canada through their affiliation with UNICCO, created new legal entities in Serbia, Croatia, Slovakia. In addition, service companies in more than 17 countries in Asia Pacific and Australia have joined the SMI group. Given these facts we expect to further expand our presence across Latin America and sub-Sahara Africa. |
